About

June Third Films is a directing duo consisting of AAPI filmmakers Huay-Bing Law & Sam Mohney.

We met while making films together at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing our MFAs. Our name is a combination of our thesis films, “June” and “Third Shift” — which were the first times we collaborated.

Our narrative and documentary work have been featured on HBO, ESPN, BBC, SXSW, and theatrically in Vietnam and Taiwan. As co-directors, we’ve collaborated with Apple, Texas Monthly, Alamo Drafthouse, Ozarka Spring Water, JC Penney and more – as well as local Texas artists, businesses and non-profits.

When we’re not freelancing as Director/DPs or teaching film production courses at the university, we’re working together to tell the stories we find meaningful and compelling.
